Year 3 (2026-2027)

Welcome to Year 3!

This year, we have so many exciting opportunities ahead of us and plenty of wonderful memories waiting to be made. From discovering Millom's rich local heritage and exploring life in the Stone Age and Roman times, to learning more about our geographical location and the beautiful Lake District, we will be developing our knowledge of the world around us. Our science topics will give us lots of opportunities to investigate, experiment and make exciting discoveries as we explore everything from rocks and soils to forces, plants and light.

We can't wait to share all the wonderful learning experiences and adventures that Year 3 has to offer. It's going to be a fantastic year!

Spring 1

We are continuing our History Topic of the Stone Age - Iron Age and looking at what pre-historic means. Most recently we have been looking at Skara Brae and Stonehenge and all the questions we would like to find out.

In Science we have been looking at Forces and how magnets work!

The Legend of Podkin One-Ear

Our class book as been a great hit! We have been looking at descriptions and how Kieran Larwood describes Scramashank and then we created some artwork with Charcoal to show our interpretation.

We had a lovely day learning how to felt and create some special work in the style of Ted Harrison. Thinking about the different contrasting colours and how to make them 'pop'.

Monday 18th November

We lit our candle for the 1st Sunday of Advent today ✨

Year 3 had a fantastic time participating in the U Dance festival at The Carnegie Theatre in Workington! Well done Year 3 - we are very proud of you!

We enjoyed using the new software on the ipads!

In our science lesson we created our own questions to investigate using lots of different size magnets and paper clips.

Everyone enjoyed this work and lots of discussions took place!

Here is the start to our new home learning non-fiction writing about Trolls.

Lots of creative ideas to share!
